Dr. Yvette Cozier is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology, and the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice at Boston University School of Public Health. She is also a Senior Epidemiologist at the Slone Epidemiology Center at Boston University (School of Medicine) where she is an investigator on the Black Women’s Health Study (BWHS). Dr. Cozier is a social epidemiologist whose overall research focus is on the influence of psychosocial factors – such as racism and neighborhood socioeconomic status – in the development of cardiometabolic diseases, and autoimmune conditions. Additional research interests include aging, and the role of attitudes about spirituality and religiosity on health. She teaches Quantitative Methods for Public Health, and Social Epidemiology at the School of Public Health.
