Carmela Farago (CAS’19, GRS’22) and Katherine Hendrick (CAS’23, GRS’23) selected for internships at the Concord Museum

Congratulations to Carmela Farago (CAS’19, GRS’22), a recent graduate in the Preservation Program, and Katherine Hendrick (CAS’23, GRS’23), a student in the Archaeology BA/MA Program)! Both received a Musketaquid Archaeological Collections internship at the Concord Museum in Concord, MA, funded through a grant from the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord Wild and Scenic River Stewardship Council. The Concord Museum is well known for its collections and exhibits on local history, including artifacts related to Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. The museum also owns a collection of 30,000 Native American artifacts that were acquired from local collectors over the years. Carmela and Katherine are helping the museum identify and catalog these artifacts for NAGPRA compliance and in the process are exploring ways to make the material accessible and relevant to contemporary museumgoers.
