BU Archaeology Welcomes New Faculty Member
The BU Archaeology Program is delighted to introduce Andreana (Andree) Cunningham, who will be joining us as Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Archaeology, and African American & Black Diaspora Studies beginning in Fall 2023. Andree, an interdisciplinary researcher of Trans-Atlantic slave trade migrations and human variation, is completing her doctoral dissertation at the University of Florida. Her research integrates bioarchaeological and digital archival methods to work with communities to shed light on their history and the history of specific individuals in the past. At BU, she will teach courses that bridge biological anthropology, archaeology, and Black studies and continue ongoing research on Trans-Atlantic life histories of enslaved people.
