WALA | Women as Leaders in Astronomy
WALA (Women As Leaders in Astronomy) is an informal lunch meeting open to all women in the astronomy department, including faculty, postdocs, graduate students and undergraduates. Our monthly meetings are centered around topics of relevance to women in astronomy, or STEM fields in general. We aim to bring awareness to issues facing women and minorities in STEM fields, to provide useful resources to help overcome these issues, and to garner relationships between women of all ages and professional levels in the department.
