BU’s Danielsen Institute to hold depression screenings
Few people with depression seek treatment, often for lack of information about resources.

Nearly 19 million American adults suffer from a depressive illness, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, but most do not seek treatment, either because they do not know what depression is or that treatments exist or because they are ashamed to be labeled depressed. To help people get the assistance they need, the Danielsen Institute is providing free screenings as part of National Depression Screening Day, Thursday, October 6.
