Willy Mason will perform with Elvis Perkins at BU Central as part of its LIVE Concert Series on Friday, September 29, 2006. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the event begins at 9 p.m.
Only in his early twenties, Mason has already toured with some of indie’s biggest names, including Death Cab for Cutie and Radiohead. Mason, who grew up on Martha’s Vineyard, first performed at age 13 with his parents, who are folksingers. He soon came to know and love the political punk rock of the early 90s and began to write music that was a combination of Johnny Cash and Nirvana.
Mason released his first album, Where the Humans Eat, in 2004. He has been touring the United States and Europe with Nina Violet on viola and backing vocals and Zak Borden on mandolin.
