CDIA holds student film festival at Embassy Cinemas, Waltham
Students at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts held a student film festival in Waltham.

The Landmark Embassy Cinema in Waltham last week hosted a film festival featuring the work of four students from the College of Communication’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts. The winter 2006 final projects of Richard Stack, Mike Kowalczyk, Cheryl Powell, and Yari Wolinsky were screened.
The topics of the short films range from comedy to drama. Stack says that students were given a great deal of creative freedom. His film, Year of the Bluefish, is a “mockumentary” chronicling the final days of a neighborhood community bank. The comedy relates to Stack’s own recent career change. “The film is loosely based on some real-life work experiences,” he says. “Anybody who has had a job in an office may recognize some of the characters.”
The Center for Digital Imaging Arts, located in Waltham at 282 Moody St., is holding an open house for prospective students on Saturday, March 4.
