Nominee gave 'strong signals' that he would limit or overturn Roe v. Wade

Since the conclusion last week of Senate hearings on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court, some Democratic senators have said they won’t vote for him. Alito is expected to prevail in tomorrow’s vote of the Judiciary Committee, comprising 10 Republicans and 8 Democrats. The full Senate will likely debate and vote on his nomination later this week.
BU Today spoke with Jack Beermann, a School of Law professor and LAW’s Harry Elwood Warren Scholar, who has a special interest in public law, about the recent hearings and the future of the Supreme Court.
