SMG’s first home in the country
When this building at 525 Boylston Street became home to SMG, the neighborhood was home to many cow pastures.

In the early 1930s, President Daniel Marsh ordered that the School of Business Administration be moved from Copley Square to what was then called the “New Campus” (now the Charles River Campus). But Dean Everett W. Lord protested, “It’s ridiculous to take a school of business out into the country."
