The Boston University Escort Security Service was established in 1980 to ensure the safety and security of the University community and to encourage use of the campus at night. When it started, the service had 15 employees and was available from 8 p.m. to midnight. It has now grown to approximately 60 student employees and operates Sunday through Thursday until 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday until 3 a.m. Over the years the Escort Security Service has provided more than 98,000 walks or rides to students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University. During final exams, the Escort Security Service will operate until 3 a.m. For assistance call 617-353-4877.
