Land of the Free, Home of the Terriers
This year’s anthem auditioners give it their all at Agganis
When the men’s hockey Terriers take the ice at Agganis Arena on Friday night, a few students will care more about the first 2 minutes of the game than the final 10 seconds. Every year, the athletics department auditions hundreds of BU hopefuls who want to sing the national anthem before a home game. One of the lucky few will make his or her debut on Friday, October 19, before the Terriers first home game of the season, against New Hampshire, at 7 p.m.
BU Productions asked the singers to talk about preaudition rituals, stage fright, and why it’s so crucial to hit the right starting note. Want to know who made it into the spotlight? Come to Agganis on Friday evening to find out.
