Nickel Creek’s Chris Thile brings bluegrass to BU Central on Thursday, February 15.

Chris Thile, the founder of the bluegrass trio Nickel Creek, will perform with How to Grow a Band, featuring Bryan Sutton, and Sometymes Why on Thursday, February 15. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the event begins at 9.
Thile, a 2007 Grammy nominee for Best Country Instrumental Performance, has released three albums with Nickel Creek and five as a solo artist, most recently September’s How to Grow a Woman from the Ground. A professional mandolin player since age 12, Thile has received numerous awards, including the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Mandolinist of the Year, and has recorded with artists such as Béla Fleck and Dolly Parton.
