“The 39 Steps” Opens at the BU Theatre
Get your Hitchcock fix at the BU Theatre with the Huntington Theatre Company's presentation of The 39 Steps, playing Tuesdays through Sundays until October 14.
The Huntington Theatre Company’s latest production blends suspense and slapstick into a hilarious whodunit. The 39 Steps was originally a novel by John Buchan, which was then adapted into a film by Alfred Hitchcock; this version, adapted by actor and writer Patrick Barlow, takes cues from both the book and the movie. The play, which won London’s 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, features four actors playing more than 150 roles.
Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Saturdays, Sundays, and on Wednesday, September 26, and Wednesday, October 10. All performances take place at the Boston University Theatre at 264 Huntington Ave. For information and tickets, visit the Huntington Theatre Company’s Web site.
