      1. One flew at me in Pittsburgh, PA today. Didn’t know what it was so posted a photo on Facebook feed. Definitely was a Spotted Lanternfly.

  1. Saw 2 in my backyard in Brooklyn NY. Thought they were a form of beetle. They were crawling along the house wall and then the grass.

  2. I found a ton of eggs and bugs in my trees. I am in South Plainfield. I used sand paper to kill the eggs…. It appears to work. Wondering your thoughts….

  3. The howland hook global ocean terminal in Staten Island is totally infested with these bugs coming in from China on or in containers. Hard to squash very quick to jump fly away

  4. I just killed one in the side of my house in East Rutherford NJ . My friend a few blocks away has a while lot of them killing his trees

  5. I killed about 10 today on a Hospital Roof in Brooklyn. They seemed to be congregating around cold water dripping from a large HVAC unit.

  6. My son reported hundreds of dead spotted lantern flies on the beach at Rockaway on Long Island, NY. He said they were as numerous as seashells lying dead on the beach.

  7. There are millions at Riis beach in New York they are all washed up on shoreline i was so disgusting i didnt know what they where just a whole mass on the beach some in water it was horrible

  8. I’m on travel for work, staying in York PA. I have seen so many, I googled the bug just to find out what it was. I have seen the red/black/white spotted one, shaped like a stink bug. And I’ve also seen the grey/black moth looking one that has red wings when it flies. They are EVERYWHERE in this town! My hotel grounds are infested. Two have collided into me in last couple days. Don’t know who to tell about it, but maybe the right person will see this and say something. I think their cool little bugs to look at, but reading this article, I worry for the agriculture.

  9. Saw 2 and killed them in Eastside Park. Paterson NJ. They were enjoying the Jamaican jam fest and then they I helped them die

  10. Yesterday my son killed one and today I just killed one. We are in upstate NY. We don’t have tree’s but lots of wild weed’s growing.

  11. There’s an infestation in Williamstown Nj we just had at LEAST 20 on the deck !!! There everywhere. My mom has seen at least 50 at a time. !!!! I told her to get the vinegar bottle out there’s just too many of them.

  12. I’ve seen quite a few in the past couple weeks here in Highland Park, NJ. I saw one tree in my neighborhood that had a band placed around it that caught a lot. My parents saw them on the trees in their yard in Metuchen, NJ and called a service which sprayed their trees and the exterior of their house.

  13. Killed like 10 of them on my way into US Steel ET plant. Wonder if they are attracted by the noise or harmonics / pitch of the motors/ fans at gas cleaning.

  14. In Paterson NJ I have seen and killed a bunch my school also taught me to scrape their eggs off and to kill em if I see them .I am aware of this situation and am currently working to make an product for these insects.

  15. I saw 2 in past 2 days in West Hempstead, NY 11552x. And today in Valley Stream zip 11580. I was suspicious then saw the pics ( and one of then had wings open I could see the red.
