Guest Speaker: George Fifield
On June 5, George Fifield is a guest speaker for the special topics class, Computer Technology and the Arts. An early innovator in the area of digital arts, Mr. Fifield served as the Curator of New Media at the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum from 1993 to 2006.He founded the Boston Cyberarts Festival in 1999, which showcased international digital artists, and continues to develop curatorial projects as the director of the Boston Cyberarts Gallery. Mr. Fifield is a member of the Boston Arts Commission, and is a faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design. He recently curated an exhibition of Augmented Reality artworks by eight international artists at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
Mr. Fifield will speak with students about the historical development of digital art and recent developments in Augmented Reality.
