Lecture: The Moiré Effect

The History of Art & Architecture at Boston University 2018-2019 Lecture Series presents “The Moiré Effect: Robert Rauschenberg, Print, and Interface” with Jennifer Roberts from Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study, Harvard University.

Jennifer Roberts, Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Professor of the Humanities and Johnson-Kulukunkdis Family Faculty Director of the Arts at the Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study, Harvard University. Focusing on Rauschenberg’s work of the 1970s as a key example, this lecture will trace the moiré effect in its broad historical context as well as in its technical links to twentieth-century print and electronic technologies.
