Call to Participate in the 1010 Gallery
The initiative consists of a physical exhibition that will take place on a six month or annual cycle within the 1010 Commonwealth Ave building. Artists have the opportunity to display their work throughout the five-story building. Artists will be accepted for either the January-June or July-December cycles.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Participants must be over 18 years of age. Students of Boston University and affiliates are preferred, but not mandatory.
Participants may submit original works of a multidisciplinary nature (painting, sculpture, photography, writing, texts, installations…).
SUBMISSION OF THE PROPOSAL
Proposals must be accompanied by a brief explanation of the work or series in free format. They must also include a short biography of the artist or collective, or a resume, as well as the name, email address of the author or group and a contact phone number.
Proposals will be submitted via form indicating if the work or series is presented to both the physical and virtual exhibitions, or to the physical display only.
Phone calls will not be accepted.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
The call will be open year round on a rolling cycle. Artists are encouraged to submit their work any time for upcoming cycles. Organizers will select and approve works for either the fall or spring cycles.
The deadlines are:
September 30th for the January-June cycle
March 30th for the July-December cycle
September or March 30th for an annual show
