Job: BosTix Manager

ArtsBoston is seeking for a BosTix Manager. The BosTix Manager handles the day-to-day operations of BosTix, ArtsBoston’s discount ticketing program.

Job Title: BosTix Manager
Hours & Location: Full time, 35 hours per week
M-F, 9-5 with occasional weekend and evening hours as required
Hybrid, work from home with monthly in-person staff meetings, 1-2 days per week at ArtsBoston Booth at Faneuil Hall

Salary: $60,000 – $65,000

Position Summary
The BosTix Manager handles the day-to-day operations of BosTix, ArtsBoston’s discount ticketing program. Through sales online and at our two booths located at Faneuil Hall and Copley Square, BosTix provides Boston residents and visitors with the opportunity to experience the best of Boston’s arts & culture for less and helps arts organizations expand their marketing reach, fill seats, and maximize revenue and word of mouth. The BosTix Manager supervises part-time BosTix booth staff, ensuring that BosTix is accessible to all audiences and that our member theaters and customers receive exceptional
customer service. ArtsBoston’s Booth at Faneuil Hall will re-open Summer 2024 and the ArtsBoston Booth at Copley Square is slated to re-open in early 2025. The BosTix Manager will play an integral role in the strategy and operations of both projects and will have the opportunity to build a team of arts & culture ambassadors to connect audiences with fun and transformative experiences.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ongoing Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for eTix ticketing partner, including handling operations and process for show building, sales reporting, gift cards, integration with ArtsBoston Calendar, and management of customer data.
  • Develop and manage relationships with arts & culture organizations and tourist attractions to procure inventory for upcoming performances and events, with a particular focus on supporting work by small organizations and BIPOC-led organizations.
  • Build & maintain 500+ events annually in ticketing system and manage listings on ArtsBoston Calendar.
  • Track sales, provide sales reports, and dispense will-call lists to organization Box Office partners as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Recommend events to feature on ArtsBoston Calendar, marketing campaigns, emails, and social media.
  • In partnership with Marketing Director, develop marketing plans and strategies for BosTix.
  • In partnership with Marketing Director, develop re-opening strategy for BosTix booth at Copley Square.
  • Hire and supervise part-time BosTix staff at booths as capacity needs grow.
  • Maintain the inventory and upkeep of technology and resources stocked at the Faneuil Hall Booth.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years’ experience with customer service & strong customer-oriented mindset
  • Prior Box Office or ticketing experience
  • Some supervisory experience of full or part-time staff preferred
  • Attention to detail for accuracy
  • Aptitude for finance and reporting
  • Exceptional organizational skills, deadline and service driven; team oriented
  • Knowledge of and passion for supporting Greater Boston’s performing and visual arts
    communities

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience with eTix or other ticketing platform and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Mailchimp or other email platform and associated performance metrics
  • Experience with WordPress or other ad serving technology and associated performance metrics
  • Systems-oriented and quick to learn new technology platforms
