Alice Lui (’20)
Alice Liu is an ardent art lover who advocates for arts and cultures in the society. She is interested in bridging communities to the arts organizations and developing accessibility through marketing and educational programming.
Alice earned her B.A. of Business English at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou, China. During her senior year, she participated in the exchange study program at her college where she studied Economics at Bern University of Applied Sciences for a semester. It was her stay at Switzerland that changed her career path. After visiting tens of art museums in Florence, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Basel, she gained a strong momentum to develop her future in the museum and gallery settings. She hoped she could work as a bridge to connect visual and performing art pieces to the general audiences.
After graduation, she worked as the Education Department intern at Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen’s Mansion where she coordinated the event plannings for the summer program that reached young participants of over 300 students. Currently she works as the marketing intern at Fort Point Arts Community where she manages their social media on multiple platforms.
The Arts Administration Program at Boston University takes an international perspective in its course programming. I greatly benefit from systematically studying the multifaceted structures of the non profit sector in the US whilst have opportunities to compare it with that in Europe as well as my home country.
