Sarah Harrison (’20)
Sarah Harrison is an arts administrator and classical pianist in Boston, MA with previous experience in the Denver Metro area. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Arts Administration at Boston University.
Sarah received a Bachelor of Music in Musicology from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts while studying classical piano. After graduation, she was accepted as the Education Programs Intern at the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra for their 2013-2014 season where she managed all logistical planning for five education events throughout the season. This is when she discovered a strong passion for arts administration.
After the Boulder Philharmonic, Sarah planned company events during the Central City Opera summer festival and worked as the Administrative and Outreach Coordinator with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra for nearly three years. Sarah now works at BU’s College of Fine Arts as the Administrative Coordinator in Enrollment and Student Services. Her responsibilities include managing events for current and prospective students including Open House, Orientation and Convocation, processing loans for online and graduate students, and implementing new activities and events to increase student satisfaction.
Sarah’s passion for arts administration is driven by the knowledge that arts can make a significant difference in the lives of all people.
The Arts Administration program at Boston University has allowed me to build on the skills I have developed in my career in arts administration and has exposed me to a wide variety of professions within arts administration. The faculty, guest speakers, and my peers all share a love of the arts and offer a wide variety of experience and knowledge.
