Wen’s strongest drive to pursue a career in arts administration comes from the experience of co-founding an art organization: Mo+CA Projects, which she conceived as the foundation work for a potential art community for contemporary artists in China. In the summer of 2015, she curated the exhibition “Landing” in Taiwan with 15 artists from San Francisco, Taiwan and Mainland China. Also, Wen has assisted art organizations including For-site Foundation (@Large: Ai Wei Wei on Alcatraz), de Young Museum and Samson Projects.
Currently, Wen is holding an O-1B visa (individuals with an extraordinary ability in the arts) and working as the art director/principle artist at Arnox (Boston) and Build-it-yourself (Cambridge).
Coming from the background of visual art, the multidisciplinary approach of this program provides a panoramic view of Arts Administration. Its combination with business, management, curatorship and leadership has helped me to demystify the aura of the art community. Meanwhile, the diverse professional backgrounds of the program’s faculty and guest speakers enables me to reach a comprehensive perspective in the field of my studies.
