Through a combination of consulting services, custom development, and self-service reporting, Analytical Services provides information and analysis capabilities to university departments in order to improve the quality of planning and business decisions and enhance the student experience. Some of the services we provide are:
Academic Reporting and Analytics
This service provides information and analysis pertaining to academics – including admissions, enrollment, financial aid, student outcomes, courses taught, and diversity statistics. We develop many self-service reports for the BU community in our Academic Data Warehouse. Academic information is also publicly available in our University Fact Book.
This service provides expertise and consulting on best practices in data visualization – including tool recommendations, dashboard design, and distribution processes.
The university supports use of Power BI as the primary data visualization tool. In addition, AS&IR supports a community of Power BI Users at BU.
Enrollment Management Analytics
This service provides descriptive and predictive statistics to inform recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students. We develop predictive models and analyses to ensure the university meets financial and enrollment goals while creating a diverse and engaged community.
