Handshape palette for annotations
Below is the palette we are currently using for handshape annotations, showing the set of handshapes and handshape labels, displayed based on natural groupings of handshapes (highlighted with different colors). Also shown are the handshape ID numbers employed (invisibly to the user) for these annotations. (To view the palette without the ID numbers, click here.)
This palette was developed by Joan Nash, Donna Riggle, and Ashwin Thangali, for use in the linguistic annotations carried out as part of the American Sign Language Linguistic Research Project. Thanks also to Ashwin for implementation of a system to faciliate verifications of our handshape annotations.
For videos showing multiple views of each of these handshapes in motion, see: http://www.bu.edu/asllrp/cslgr/pages/ncslgr-handshapes.html.
