Neuroimaging
Electroencephalogram (EEG)
EEG is a noninvasive technique to measure the brain’s electrical activity. We work individually with each family to create a personalized plan for completing the EEG. We work to ensure that the experience is easy and fun! We’ve created a social story for participants. Check out our POLO EEG Social Story!
Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)
fNIRS, which stands for “functional near-infrared spectroscopy”, is a safe and non-invasive neuroimaging technology that is used to measure what the brain is doing naturally during social interactions. fNIRS uses small lights, which are placed on a cap on the head, to measure changes in blood flow to different areas of the brain.
