NIA Homework/Tutoring Program 2018-2019
Title: Tutor/Intern
Job summary:
As a tutor you are responsible for guiding students to improve their academic performance through creative learning. Offer quality homework help to students in areas of math and other subjects. The tutor will work one-on-one or with a small group of students and document their progress to discuss with supervisor and parents.
Duties:
- Provide encouragement and positive motivation
- Pay extra attention to problems and subjects student struggles with
- Review students’ daily work and homework
- Track daily attendance to submit to program coordinator at the end of each day
- Assist students in completing assignments
Special requirements:
- Able to serve as a positive role model and mentor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work after school hours
- Able to offer homework help and lead in enrichment activities
- Should be able to supervise individuals and small groups of students
Schedule:
- 12-15 hours per week; usually Monday through Thursday
- Hours may vary depending on holidays and weather
Full time/Seasonal: Seasonal (October-June)
Salary: $16-$17 per hour. Depending on experience
