Job Description
Analysts’ efforts are a major component of every project we do, so you will learn and contribute to each of the types of projects listed above! Responsibilities include information gathering, data analysis, and presentation writing. As most of our work is with emerging technologies, primary research comprises much of analysts’ efforts. Primary research involves interviews with clients, their customers, their competitors, and industry experts – often these are opinion leading and community based physicians, life sciences research staff, etc. Depending on the nature of the project, time is also devoted to secondary research, which emphasizes work with the scientific and medical literature, company financial and marketing materials, regulatory and patent filings, etc. New analysts work with the more senior members of the consulting staff in project teams to address key strategic issues for clients. In fact, our organization is relatively flat, and the senior leadership is accessible and directly involved in the projects. As their skills develop, analysts earn increasing responsibility and autonomy, and progress toward greater client interaction, presentation delivery, and limited travel. In addition to working on consulting cases, analysts have the opportunity to work on investment due diligence and portfolio company projects as well.
Typical project duration is one to three months, and you will most often work on two projects at a time. Thus, you can expect to work on 10 or more projects in a year, allowing you to develop experience across diverse market segments and types of projects.
Fletcher Spaght strives to respect employees’ quality of life, recognizing its importance to each of us.
