Lu Zhang, Ph.D., is an Associate professor in the School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University. Dr. Zhang joined the Broad College as an Assistant Professor in 2013 and being promoted to Associate Professor in 2019. She teaches undergraduate and graduate level technology courses and Business strategy in the School of Hospitality Business. She received her Master’s degree and Ph.D. degree from The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and tourism management from Xiamen University, China.  

Dr. Zhang’s research mainly focuses on information technology and consumer behavior. Her research topics include online customer reviews, social media influencers, and consumer experience with technologies. She has published in premium journals such as Journal of Service Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, and Journal of Services Marketing. Dr. Zhang serves on the Editorial Boards of Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights. She is also an active reviewer for several reputable journals.
