Juan M. Madera is the Curtis L. Carlson Endowed Professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hospitality Management, University of Houston (UH). His research interest includes diversity and discrimination in the workplace. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles, trade articles and book chapters. He is the recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, including from the NSF, USDA-NIFA, Sloan Foundation, and the Ford Foundation. Dr. Madera is Fellow for the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, serves as an editorial board member of numerous peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research). He also serves as a research fellow for the Center for Advancement UH Faculty Success where he is involved in both research and policy work for the promotion and tenure process. Dr. Madera received a doctoral degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Rice University.
