Besides the opportunity to do research, many of our students are interested in an internship during their time at BU. Here are some resources to help you when considering an internship:
- The Center for Career Development – The CCD has resources of all kinds related to careers, and can help you find and prepare for internships and jobs. They also hold many events throughout the year focusing on career preparation and skills.
- Handshake – Handshake is the CCD’s recommended platform for students, employers, and career centers. Students can use it to search for internships, jobs, and events.
- Yawkey Paid Internship Program – This program provides stipends for sophomores and juniors participating in unpaid internships for nonprofit organizations.
- CAS On-Campus Internship Program – This program allows students to apply for approved internship opportunities at Boston University. Accepted students are enrolled in CAS IN 250, a 1-credit course, and participate in professional development seminars throughout the semester.
- BU Connects – BU’s online platform connecting students, alumni, and BU departments and offices. Positions and mentorship opportunities can be found here. Alumni share career advice and networking connections with current students and fellow alumni as well. You can also contact Erin Mullins in the Biology Department for help finding an alum of your Biology major.
- The Pre-Professional Advising Office – The Pre-Professional Advising Office offers advising for both pre-health and pre-law students. On their site, they have resources to help students find relevant internship and volunteer opportunities.
