Current Research:

My research focuses on the soil microbes that exchange nutrients with plants and the atmosphere. I develop computational tools to model these complex communities and predict their activity. I am working to synthesize top-down approaches (representing the diversity of entire communities) with bottom-up approaches (using the building blocks of communities, such as individual genes and microbial strains).
