Graduates Need To:

  1. Fill out the Intent to Graduate form – you must have filled out the Intent to Graduate form on CAS Advising’s website.
  2. Purchase Regalia –order online through May 1 for home delivery or purchase in-store at Barnes & Noble at BU.
  3. Request accommodations for guests, like accessible seating (April 1 – May 2) if applicable.
  4. Take the Senior Survey – the BMB Program needs your feedback & you can enter to win one of six $50 Visa gift cards.
  5. Attend a Prep Meeting – we will review the ceremony procedures and practice your name pronunciation at this mandatory meeting. You MUST attend one:
    1. May 10 at 11 AM in COM 101
    2. May 14 at 4 PM in COM 101

BMB Convocation

Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Convocation
Saturday, May 18 at 4 PM at the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre (820 Commonwealth Ave, Brookline, MA 02446)

At this ceremony, graduates will have their name read, walk across the stage to receive their diploma, and pose for handshake photography.

Tickets: no tickets are required for the BMB Convocation and there is no limit on the number of guests graduates can bring (though we do expect about five guests per graduate).

Seating: Seats are first-come, first-served starting at 3:15 p.m. Seating for guests with disabilities is available. Wheelchairs are not available for rent, so guests should plan to bring their own.

Dress: Graduates should wear cap and gown.

Duration: Approximately one hour + reception afterward (reception features beverages and hors d’oeuvres).

Photography: A photographer will be present to take a photo of each graduate receiving his/her diploma case. More info here.

All-University Commencement

All-University Commencement
Sunday, May 19 at 1 PM at Nickerson Field

Parking information is here.

Tickets: No tickets are required for the All-University Commencement ceremony and there is no limit on how many guests a graduate may have.

Seating: Seats are first-come, first-served. It is advised to arrive no later than noon. While general seating is not reserved, there are designated areas for guests with disabilities. Students should arrive at Harry Agganis Way by 12:15 pm. University Marshals will be on hand to aid in seating by college.

Dress: Graduates should wear cap and gown.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
