William J. Mahoney (Wheelock’63,’70)

of West Roxbury, Mass., was cocaptain of the BU men’s baseball team in 1963, then head coach of the University’s club baseball team from 1975 to 1984 before becoming head varsity coach until 1995. He was inducted into the Boston Park League Hall of Fame in 1986 and into the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2019. William has been a physical education teacher and coach in Boston Public Schools for more than 40 years; he coaches baseball at O’Bryant High School.
