More than 300 alumni, parents, and friends gathered in Beijing last March for a weekend of activities, including the fifth Asian Business Forum and presentations by President Robert A. Brown and economic leaders from the region. The event, called BU Momentum, was the largest gathering of alumni outside the United States in BU history. Participants came from China, the United States, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom. They visited Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall, as well as leading tech companies in China’s Silicon Valley. In addition to the business forum, guests attended a dinner featuring cultural performances by alumni and talent from across Asia, and Brown gave the keynote address at the conference titled Beijing, Boston, and Beyond. At the School of Management Centennial Celebration Luncheon, Weiqiang Han (GRS’89, GSM’89) and Michael T. Lee (GSM’86) received SMG Distinguished Alumni Awards.
