BU Students Ranked Among
Nation’s Happiest
Diversity and city life cited by college ranking organization

Unigo, a student-oriented ranking and review organization, asked college students around the country if they were happy as they could be on campus. Citing BU’s size, as well as the city of Boston, Unigo found Terriers to be the third happiest bunch in the country in its 2013 Unigo College Rankings. From outdoor lounging to exploring Beantown to sports and concerts, BU students have few complaints socially.
On nice days, students take in the city of Boston, or hang out on the “BU beach,” a park behind the College of Arts & Sciences. BU’s new Agganis Arena has games and concerts for BU students almost every weekend, plus there’s never a shortage of things to do in Boston.
“I came to BU because it was one of the best schools that I got accepted to and I wanted to be in a city environment,” Ronak, a School of Management sophomore explained. “BU’s campus has a different feel than a traditional college campus because it’s very open and urban.”
No doubt BU’s size has something to do with it, and many of Boston’s students appreciate the diversity to be found on campus. According to Joyce Kim, a sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences, this helps her feel more comfortable and content. “I hang out with a lot of different people and it never feels cliquey.” Read more…
