Dunkin' do-net: The recent hot streak of Chaz Carr (CGS'03) for the Terrier men's basketball team (see "In the News") and his leadership against Northeastern led us to focus on another Terrier standout, Randy Cross (SED'65), and another win against Northeastern. The 1963-64 basketball season was highlighted, according to the 1964 yearbook, by "a heart-stopping, come-from-behind, double-overtime victory" against Northeastern in the finals of the second annual Beanpot Tournament. BU defeated Tufts University in the first round, then took on the Huskies. In the first overtime period, the Terriers substituted hustle for height and again deadlocked the score. In the second overtime, the Terriers pulled away with a steal and a score by Cross, who was named to the Beanpot All-Star Team. Photo from the 1964 Hub
