Sheila Curran Bernard

Sheila Curran Bernard (COM’79) of Delmar, N.Y., received a 2021–22 National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar Award for “Bring Judgment Day”: Reclaiming Lead Belly’s Truths from Jim Crow’s Lies, a nonfiction book under contract with Cambridge University Press. In July 2022, a fifth edition of her Documentary Storytelling: Creative Nonfiction on Screen was published by Focal Press/Routledge.
