 Webinar FAQs

How do I connect to a Zoom webinar?

The first step is to register for the webinar through the registration link. You will be sent a registration confirmation email, which will contain a link that you will use to join the webinar on the date and time of the webinar. You will also receive an email reminder with the link shortly before the webinar begins.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a video conferencing platform. You will need to set up a free account and download Zoom to your device in order to join the webinar. The Zoom website is: www.zoom.us and you can click on the “Sign up, it’s free” button on the top right. You can also go to the app store (iPhone) or GooglePlay store (Android) to download the free app onto your smartphone or tablet.

How can I join the webinar through YouTube?

You can access the YouTube live stream of the webinar by navigating to www.youtube.com/@BlackWomensHealthStudy. You do not need a YouTube account to view the live stream, but you may need one to participate in the live chat.

Should I choose Zoom or YouTube?

We are offering both because we want all who wish to attend to be able to do so. Either platform will allow you to view the webinar. Zoom has a limited capacity, so anyone who wants to join after the capacity is reached will be re-directed to join the live stream on YouTube.

How do I submit questions for webinar panel ahead of time?

When you submit your Zoom registration you will have an opportunity to submit questions for the webinar. You can also submit questions by sending an email to bwhs@bu.edu; please use the subject line: “Question for BWHS Webinar Panel.”

How do I submit questions during the webinar?

If you are connecting via Zoom, you can use the Q&A feature to submit questions. This will be demonstrated at the start of the webinar.

If you are connecting via YouTube, you can submit questions via the live chat. Moderators will be monitoring the YouTube live stream throughout the event, and will forward your questions to the panel.

Does the BWHS share my registration information with outside parties?

No, the BWHS does not share any of your registration information with outside parties, and will only use your email address to send you information regarding the webinar(s) for which you have registered.
