PATH Advising Program (Planning & Advising For Transitions to Higher Education)
PATH Advising Program (formerly College Advising Corps-Boston University (CAC-BU)) seeks to increase the number of low-income, first generation, and underrepresented students entering and completing college.
To achieve this mission, PATH places well-trained recent college graduates into under-served high schools to serve as near-peer AmeriCorps college and career advisers. PATH advisers work within their school placements to promote a culture of college attendance and to increase educational opportunities for all students. PATH advisers assist students with completing college or trade applications and applying for financial aid; advisers are committed to helping each student find his or her “best-fit” institution.
PATH Advising Program currently has 36 advisers serving in 31 high schools across Boston, Malden and Somerville.
