Resources to Help Support and Protect Our Community as a Safe and Inclusive Environment
The College & Graduate School of Arts & Sciences is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive academic community in which all of our faculty, staff, and students can be successful regardless of their gender, race, sexuality, background, or any other characteristic protected by law. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on these characteristics and all faculty, staff, and students are responsible for ensuring that Boston University is a safe place to work, study, and live. Boston University offers resources to support and protect our community. Please find links to many of these resources below.
Protection Against Gender Discrimination & Sexual Misconduct: Title IX
Title IX of the the United States Education Amendments of 1972, Public Law No. 92‑318, 86 Stat. 235, prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. Boston University (BU) is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex. BU provides many resources to students, faculty, and staff to address concerns relating to discrimination on the basis of sex, including all forms of sexual misconduct.
Faculty and staff are responsible employees of sexual misconduct. This means they have an obligation to promptly report incidents or complaints of sexual misconduct to one of the Deputy Title IX Coordinators.
