After you submit your application it is forwarded to your program for review. Admission decisions are made by the program’s admissions committee which may consist of the Department Chair, the program’s Director of Graduate Studies or Graduate Admission, and Faculty of the program.
The program’s admissions committee will submit their recommendation to the Graduate School and the Graduate School will notify the applicant of the outcome via email within three business days. You will not find an admission decision in your application. Instead, you will receive an email at the email address you listed in your application. Please make sure you check the right email account and check any spam folders.
Please keep in mind that many programs release admission decisions in late March, even for those departments who have earlier application deadlines. After allowing sufficient review time, you may contact the program to which you applied directly and inquire on the status of your application.
If you have already received an admission decision and have questions about it, or want to receive feedback about your application, please do not contact the Graduate School (grs@bu.edu); instead, contact the program directly. For program information, click here.
