Resilience, Hope, and Improving Lives
Dean Stan Sclaroff on how the CAS community is solving problems and empowering future leaders
Dean Stan Sclaroff on how the CAS community is solving problems and empowering future leaders
The stories you will read in this fall 2020 online edition of arts&sciences will introduce you to some of our faculty, students, and alumni who are innovating boldly to make a positive difference in the world. Whether they are fighting disease or fighting racial discrimination, helping the world build a more sustainable food supply chain or helping pilots avoid in-air collisions, these members of the CAS community are solving problems to improve lives.
As the world continues to struggle with the global pandemic, and our country confronts the pandemic of racial injustice, the faculty, staff, and students at BU’s College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences will continue to do our part to help. It is part of our mission as a global educational and research institution to work to solve challenges like these, while empowering the next generation to do the same.
I hope you enjoy reading these stories, and I wish you and yours a safe and productive year ahead.
Sincerely,
Stan Sclaroff
Dean of Arts & Sciences
