Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (CAS’11) made national news in June when she defeated a US House speaker-in-waiting twice her age in New York’s primary election. Her opponent last had a primary challenger in 2004. Ocasio-Cortez is expected to win the seat this November in her district, which straddles the Bronx and Queens. Read more at BU Today.
