Hi Everyone! My name is Soumya Malhotra (she/her/hers) and I am a  Junior studying Neurobiology and Human Physiology in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, respectively. I am originally from India, moved here for college and haven’t looked back since! While initially, I struggled to be away from home, I soon found communities at BU that kept me determined and motivated. I have been involved in various activities on campus including the Alternative Service Breaks, Student Food Rescue, and the community service sorority, Omega Phi Alpha, all of which have given me a better perspective on the importance of service. I am also a board member of the Hindu Students Council, an International Peer mentor and the Director of Recruitment in the Student Government. Additionally, I am a Research Assistant in the Physiology and Biophysics lab at the Boston University Medical Campus. Someday, I wish to go to medical school and pursue an MD in Neurosurgery.

Out of school, you can either find me in the FitRec swimming pool, boxing or walking around the Boston downtown area! I would love to hear from all of you if you have questions about academic life at BU, or just life in general!
