Tori Lee received her PhD in Classical Studies from Duke University, where her dissertation explored danger and violence in non-canonical pastoral poetry. Her research interests include translation, feminism, and concepts of obscenity in antiquity. Her current project applies a lens of critical classical reception to the investigation of sexual and intimate partner violence in ancient literature. Tori is the Assistant Editor of the Society for Classical Studies blog (and formerly for Eidolon Journal), Programming Coordinator for the Asian and Asian American Classical Caucus, and member of the leadership collective of the Sportula, a mutual aid organization for students of the ancient world. 

She is committed to social justice in Classics and in academia writ large, co-founding the diversity committee for Duke’s Classical Studies department and leading its anti-racist reading group. Outside of work, Tori enjoys dance fitness classes, crossword puzzles, and food documentaries; she is an avid fan of the New York Mets and Duke basketball.
