Meet the New Eye-Catching Addition to Boston’s Skyline

Is it a big Jenga tower or a stack-of-books-like building? Over the last few years, Boston University's Center for Computing & Data Sciences has slowly ascended, zigzagging above the Charles River. While its architecture is eye-catching, its story goes much deeper (literally) than just changing Boston's skyline.

"In fact, BU says it’s 100% fossil-fuel-free. There are no gas lines. The building buys its electricity from a wind farm in South Dakota. And it is mainly heated and cooled using geothermal wells that run deep into the ground.”
