Tech Staff: Senior Data Systems Engineer

The CDS Senior Data Systems Engineer will serve as the technical lead on a portfolio of data science projects pursued by CDS faculty and students in collaboration with internal and external partners. Working closely with the leadership of CDS, this position will be responsible for the setup, deployment, and oversight of the software and data infrastructures needed for projects delivering vibrant academic experiences for students and impactful research that matters by faculty and researchers. The position will play a central role in building a critical function with a groundbreaking academic unit with the potential to have profound impact on cutting edge research, student experiences, and the creation of technical artifacts in service of the public interest with external project partners. This role will also serve as a key liaison to partners such as Research Computing, BU Libraries, and other university support functions on behalf of CDS. Learn more.

Admin Staff: Undergraduate Academic Advisor

The Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) is an interdisciplinary academic unit comprising scholars and researchers who are solely appointed in that unit as well as faculty with joint appointments in various schools and colleges at BU. CDS’ mission is to be a catalyst for synergy and integration of research and education programs in computing and data sciences across the landscape of academic disciplines at BU. Founded in 2019 and housed in an iconic 19-story building, CDS complements and connects traditional academic disciplines through the language of computation and data. In support of the University’s strategic goals, CDS is laying the foundation for promoting innovation-driven and civic-minded computing through thematic Impact Labs that act as catalysts for maximizing the real-world impact of its research, curricular, and co-curricular programs.  Learn more.
