Lydia Holck

Lydia joined the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences in 2022 as Spark! Operations Director. Prior to joining BU, Lydia spent seven years as Operations Manager at Community Charter School of Cambridge. She is a current MBA student at BU's Questrom School of Business, and earned a BA from Boston College.

As Operations Director, Lydia oversees the operational management of all Spark! activities ensuring a high quality experience for students, university faculty and staff, and external partners engaging with Spark! experiential learning programs.  A key member of the Spark! leadership team, Lydia helps set strategy, foster team culture and wellbeing, and manages the administrative and operational processes to achieve program outcomes. 

Lydia is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of Spark! including budget forecasts and allocations, directing annual planning, hiring/ human resource planning, program calendars, and communications needs. The administrative operations also include ensuring that appropriate workflows, metrics tracking, reporting and tools are in place to involve key stakeholders including students, external partners, and internal faculty collaborators.  

The Operations Director is also Spark!’s Chief People Officer, managing the processes for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding staff and student employees, student interns, and program partners. Lydia also leads the implementation of key team collaboration and end-of-semester reviews and reflection processes and play a significant role in shepherding team culture, cohesion, and performance.
