“VASI exceeded my expectations…

…both the activities and the classes helped me grow as an artist and a person. Most of my current portfolio comes from VASI. I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without that previous work! I was awarded Merit Scholarships at three different art schools when I applied, and I owe most of it to VASI and my summer at BU.”

About VASI

The Boston University School of Visual Arts’ Summer Institute offers high school students (ages 15–18) an intensive visual arts program designed to help them build exceptional portfolios and get a taste of the collegiate art school classroom experience. Whether preparing portfolios for college admission or simply working to improve technical abilities, students are introduced to materials and methods used in professional artistic practice.

Students earn three college credits at the program’s completion, and leave the program with work ready to be included in their portfolios.

VASI takes place at Boston University College of Fine Arts, located on the Charles River Campus.  The VASI faculty consists of faculty members and alumni of the School of Visual Arts who are committed artists and exceptional teachers.
