Brenn Parker Fjeldsted

Administrative Coordinator, School of Music Production/Scheduling Office

“Music chose me” is the frequent response given by flutist and musician Brenn Parker Fjeldsted when asked about her life’s journey. Learning to harmonize by ear at a young age, Brenn’s formal music lessons began with piano at age 7 followed by flute at age 12 and voice at age 16. Her studies and passion for pursuing music led her to Brigham Young University to study with Dr. April Clayton in 2015. Under Dr. Clayton’s tutelage, Brenn competed for and was named a Winner in the National Flute Association 2019 Masterclass Competition where she played for renowned flutist Gergely Ittzés. Her passion for flute and orchestral flute playing had solidified.

After a challenging Covid gap year and forming the flute/harp trio Luminesce out of Salt Lake City, Brenn was accepted into Boston University’s Master of Music Performance program to study with Linda Toote of the BSO and Boston Pops. Brenn successfully completed her degree in May 2024 and is happily teaching and gigging in the Boston area.

In tandem with music, Brenn has held various administrative roles including Account Manager and Inbound Team Lead at Vivint Smart Home and Office Administrator at Preview Properties. The fulfillment of helping others drives her commitment to excellence in customer service, relationship management, and consistently high levels of performance. Brenn is thrilled to be at Boston University College of Fine Arts as the School of Music’s Administrative Coordinator in their Production/Scheduling Office where she combines her administrative skills and passion for music to support student and faculty success.

When Brenn is not working or playing the flute, you can usually find her outside on walks, eating Asian cuisine, watching movies, or playing pickleball with her husband Jakob.
