Academic Operations Manager
Currently the Academic Operations Manager for Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre, Gg Martel (she/her) has a long career in production management and administration in higher education. Most recently, she was the production manager at BU’s Wheelock Family Theatre and immediately prior to that was the chair of the Performance Production department at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. As a production manager and producer, she worked at Seattle Children’s Theatre, A.C.T. in San Francisco, Marin Theatre Company and at Village Theatre in Issaquah, WA. In higher ed. Gg has taught stage management, production management, as well as stagecraft and was on the faculty and the Producing Director at The University of Texas at Austin, was the faculty technical director at San Francisco State University and at Stanford University. She was the T.D. for 4 seasons at Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, CA and worked at the summer festivals Pepsico Summerfare and The American Dance Festival. In addition to collaborating on hundreds of established, published works, Gg has worked alongside many writers, composers, directors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, designers, artisans and actors in the development of over 100 new plays, contemporary ballets and new musicals.
